House Cleaning Service
If you build these cleaning habits into your daily routine, you can reduce your home cleaning.
1. Clean or tidy as you go. If you're cooking dinner and waiting for food to cook in the oven or stove, that’s your time to load the dishwasher, clear the benches of items you no longer need and wipe down the benches or take out the rubbish, particularly if its bin night. Utilising ALL the time available to you during the process of preparing dinner, will save you time at the other end and you can re-allocate that time such as spending it with your family. Another home cleaning bonus tip is, cleaning the toilet as you go. You would be amazed how long you can maintain a clean/fresh toilet if you simply clean as you go and drop some freshener in the water.
2. One touch. In line with tidying as you go, its good practice to return things to where they belong after use or in between use. For example, rather throwing your coat on a chair or backpack in the kitchen, take the coat off and hang it up or put your backpack under the staircase where it belongs. Minimising the number of times, you must touch something, ideally one touch, will go a long way to keeping a tidy home.
3. Clean top down. We all know that everything that goes up must come down, therefore, dust and dirt inevitable ends up on the floor. With that in mind, its best to clean from the top down. Start with window reveals, wiping the tops, ceiling fans, windowsills, chest of draws, bedside tables, skirting boards, followed by carpet cleaning. You can see the order of house cleaning is from the very top gradually making it to the bottom. If you feel overwhelmed when you walk into a room, just pick a starting point and work in a methodical clockwise direction. This principle can also be used for end of lease cleans.
4. Avoid Ironing. If you use a tumble dryer, simply folding clothes and putting them away immediately when they are warm can save you hours of ironing. If you don’t have a dryer, perhaps you use the local laundry or simply hang out the washing either on the line or clothes horse. If that’s the case, we are recommending still putting the clothes away unironed when they are dry and iron as you go. To save spending hours of time ironing mountains of washing, just do short sharp bursts or iron as you go.
5. Create daily cleaning rituals. This is one of the easiest things you can do that will help keep a tidy home. A simple morning cleaning ritual is to make your bed as soon as you step out of it, even before your coffee. Additionally, a simple nightly cleaning ritual is ensuring the kitchen is clean. By that we mean, empty the kitchen sink, stack the dishwasher, and turn it on, then wipe down the benches. If you include both of those house maid tips alone, you will have a clean kitchen space to have breakfast and a made bed to get into at night.
